2011 honda trx250x reviews

Just purchased my son a new TRX250X for Christmas, and am need of full chassis & swingarm skids, bumper, and grab bar. However, I am not sure which ones are best, and if they are compatible with another model. The delaer told me that new 250x and 300ex parts are the same, but I am not sure. I have used pro-armor and ac stuff on my units before, but am having trouble finding what I need for this one. Help is appreciated.

I always thought they were 2 different quads, 250 was shaft driven and the 300 is chain.. Welcome to the forums.

I can't find a 2011 300X and the 250X is a shaft drive. There was no 2010 model, but the biggest change from the 2009 model to the 2011 was BNG (Bold New Graphics)

I have used DG Performance, Maier, Pro Armor and Bling Star. I never used AC Racing or anything else that might be out there.

My friends at HONDA told me that anything listed for a 2009 TRX250X should work on the 2011.

I don't think that there is such thing as a 300x only the trx300ex

ttt367, did you find anything out about compatible parts between the 2011 250x and other quads. I have a '11 250x aswell. ive ordered a few things like a arm skids and a front bumper but i would like to get a new grab bar and new heel guards. I cant seem to find what im looking for anywhere.

Well - I am corrected - Honda has a 2011 TRX250X shaft drive. They had a TRX300X chain drive that was offered in 08 and 09 but dropped in 2010. I have been told by one accessory manufacturer that they haven"t started making things for the 250X as they got burned on the 300X. They said they would wait till they see some sales numbers on the 250X. Accessories for the 300X will not work on the 250X. If Honda drops the 250X after a couple years, like the 300X, then they won't be sitting on a warehouse full of stuff that won't sell.

That doesn't mean you should quit looking - that was just the sentiment of one manufacturer. Good luck.

It sounds like to me that the the dealer is confused with the old 250x's and the new 250x's. The old 250x's like from the early 90's were identical to the 300ex's. But the new 250x's are the same as the 250ex with new graphics. A 250ex/new 250x are completely different than a 300ex. I think that name change was one of the dumbest things that honda did.
