Default TRX250X decompression

Hello all TRX experts. I'm a TRX newbie and new to the forum. Just bought an 87 TRX250X basket case, in really good condition and am in the process of getting it put back together. I'm missing the decompression cable and clamp. Do I really need it? I'm 56 years old and thought it might help me in kick starting it. I can not find one at any of the suppliers. I would even take a used one if anyone has one. I can kick it over without it but, it really has some good compression and I'm afraid if it don't start on the first 5 kicks, I'm done for. Will it make much differance?
