trx450er 5th gear problems

Im having some transmission problems with 5th gear. When i shift from 4th to 5th, 5th gear it is like nuteral it just rev's out. Could my problem be the a warnen out shift drum or shift fork? Please help

Your problem is most likely a damaged gear. Only way to find out is start tearing it down. Do what you can with the engine in the frame. Drain the oil, pull the clutch cover, check the shift mech behind the clutch, then if no problem is found there, continue pulling off what you can before you pull the motor and break it down to get into the tranny. There you will find out if it's a gear, shift fork, shift drum or a combination of all the parts.
