Default 07 450er ticking under heavy load

Guys, I went to Dune Fest this year and after riding most of the week I started hearing a random ticking noise, but only while under heavy load like while climbing the dunes. It sounds to inconsistent to be a valve to me, I was thinking possibly timing chain if the tensioner is worn out. Is it common for the tensioner to wear out? I've heard about the aftermarket ones fixing this problem, have any of you had this problem and recommend a fix (aka brand of replacement tensioner)? Noise is coming from left side of bike btw. It's not the drive chain.

Might be the fuel ! what kind are you running? Tokoyo mod's makes a nice cam chain tensioner.

I'm running at least 91 octane all the time, usually try to run 93.
