Completely died on me, help?
I was out riding my 250ex last night in the snow and the blizzardous conditions got the best of the thing. It took forever to get running and then even while riding the idle wasn't very consistant. It actually did stall on me in neutral once before I could get one the gas to save it so I'm guessing it was pretty cold. Anyway I let my buddy ride the thing and he stalled it twice while shifting. The second time he yelled it wouldn't start so I ran over to check it out. Key on, killswitch on, gas on the thing had no power. The neutral light died and there was no ignition like when I pressed the button it didn't crank or anything. I'm guessing the battery died or something? I really hope that's all it is. I don't wanna jump it though because I don't have a tender and you hear rumros that you can kill a battery tryin to charge it when it's frigid cold. Tomorrow I'm going to get a tender and charge it in the warmth anyone have any ideas what else it could be?

Check your fuse in the machine. Sounds like a wiring issue. Wet parts from snow. I had some trouble in the cold once with a harness getting wet and I blew a fuse. I also use dielectric grease at all my conections to help keep out moisture and corrosion. let me know what happens

Thanks Tom, go figure today it fired right up. Not complaining but I don't get it? It mustan have either been wet parts or too cold?

Wet parts! Use the dieletric grease on the connections. Use plenty. It helps!

Will do thanks buddy. One more question if you don't mind. When stuck in snow the back left tire doesn't spin? Is this a problem? I dunno if it should have a locker or not? Also when I give it a bit of gas in reverse sometimes it shutters really bad and the axle hops?

That sounds like the axle may be broke.

Really? Not cool there is no wobbleing though? The bearings are shot I know that but that shouldn't effect the one wheel peeling?

I just thought of something. Your hub could be stripped out causing the wheel not to spin

Shuttering in reverse is the govenor. The rear axle should be spining both wheels. I would check my hubs like mud said. Then if you don't see the problem the axle could be bad/broke.

Hubs are fine I guess I gotta pull the axle anyway. God this is turning into an expensive $600 quad lol. I doubt the shaking was the governer, I'm sure there is one but this was like a stop and go shutter of the tires it knocked all the snow out of the treds..something similar to wheel hop on a car. Also it did it at random speeds, giving it more gas actually smoothed it out, it's when I got closer to idle it would start bugging out on me. What else could break in the rear besides the axle because when I jack it up and spin one wheel back and forth they both spin and there is no gap like gear lash or any other type of knocking. I'm absolutely baffled.
