Will a 07 ex250 engine fit in a 05

I have a 05 250ex with a blown engine. What will i have to do put a 07 motor into my 05? I heard that the 07 250s are manuel, can i still use my semi-auto tranny.

Welcome to the family!
The newer model 250EX or 250X has a sport clutch. It works like a manual but you can also shift it with out the clutch. I am not going to beable to describe how it works exactly because I have never idden one. I know that you cannot stall it though. Someone else will be able to throw you some better info than me on this subject. If not I have a link in my signature that gets alot of traffic and is a sister site to this one.

05's and 07's use the same crankcases and the same clutches. Should be a perfect fit.
