2005 TRX 450 R Carb

I'm thinking about changing to the newer style carb off of an 06 or newer 450 R. Any thoughts or advice on this? I have opened the airbox and added a K&N airfilter, Two Brothers Exhaust system and the Honda HRC cam.And I'm using a 185 main jet. The quad runs great. I use it to play on the Oregon dunes. the fcr carbs on the 06+ have way better throttle response then the old ones. fcr's are the new teck.
they are a smaller carb 40mm vrs your 42mm. if your still at stock compression 10.5:1 it will not pull the fuel as well as the 06 12:1 compression. they will work the best with high comp pistons but overall it's a good upgrade

but on the opposite side of the topic, there are some xc racers that put your carb on the newer machines because the 04/05 carb comes on softer and is easier to ride for long periods of time, less arm pump

i think there is clearance issues under the gas tank

i think a eary model crf carb fits better but theres so many different ideas out there

google (fcr on 04/05 trx450r) and sit back and absorb
