I purchased a carb rebuilt kit for my 97 300EX. For the pilot mixture screw, can someone tell me what order the washer, o-ring and spring go in? I wasn't paying attention when I pulled my old one out.


Also, I'm getting a really high idle when I let this think idle. I'm wondering if I screwed up the order when I installed the pilot mixture screw and it's causing the backfire. If that's not it, any ideas? I've checked the carb boots and they don't seem to have any cracks or holes where I'd get a leak.

I ride mainly on dirt trails (mud when it rains) some rocky and some sandy areas too. I was looking at ITP Holeshot HD and Kenda Kutter XC tires. Not too sure which I should go for. I heard good things for both. I like the Kutters price better but the Kutters have me a little worried the tread would wear quick due to their "beefy" design. (I have some limited road riding to connect to trails) Any advice will be appreciated. I am going to try and make some time this weekend to get my voltmeter and service manual out to do some circuit testing. Is there anything particular that anyone knows is a common problem on these that I should look at first? Any info will be helpful. thanks BTW, all electronics are stock.
