Anyone Running HMF Exhaust On An 08 400ex?
I am currently running a 08 400ex, and I'm having a problem with my clutch cable melting cause my exhaust system. Any one out there that has the same set up as I do, and found a way to run the clutch cable through their big ass HMF header let me know.
Or even some one who knows what kinda clutch cable that's longer (4-6inches) that would work..... Thanks!!!

Motion Pro can custom make a cable in whatever length you request. I took a screen door spring (get at most any hardware store), cut the hooks off it and slipped it over the cable. It helps dissipate the heat and keeps the cable from melting where it contacts the head pipe. It can be stretched if necessary to provide more coverage.

Yeah, I tried to do that too... Cable wouldn't come off the header at all doing that. I even disconnected it from that hanger it sits on just below the handle bars and didn't help. I guess that a 250x/300ex cable, which is the same, will work and is longer. I don't know if I wanna give that a try though. I am always up for trying new things. I'll order one from that site "Here 2 Help" mentioned probably so I can get off here and quit b****ing about it lol.
Thanks!!!!
Thanks!!!

Yeah, some people say they haven't had to do anyhting. Others, like me, cant or don't want to jerry rig it up for it to work. I'm actually just ordering a cable from Motion Pro - Quality Motorcycle Cables, Tools and Controls that is 4 inches longer. Problem solved for me!!! I will have to put some pictures of my wheeler with before and after of the old and new clutch cables.
