2003 honda 400ex wont start

I have an 03 400EX that will not start by the push button. However you can roll it off or cross solenoid over and it will fire right up. I have installed new battery,solenoid,and rectifier. I have also search the wiring harnesses and cant find any loose wires or bad connections. I found that if you take plug off the rectifier and cross two of the wires that go into that plug that the push button then works. I also do not have any lights working on it. No headlights, brake light or the neutral light. Could anyone be of assistance with this?

Have you checked your start switch ???????????

The neutral light has to be on or the clutch has to be pulled in for the starter to work. The rectifier you crossed over is part of that circuit. You probably need to replace the rectifier, but you need to find what caused the rectifier to fail.

well i have went back and traced wires to find where i was loosing the hot. And found that the plug to key switch was bad! So I now have it back to running.!
