Default 400ex suspension ???

hey everyone. its been a while since ive been on here, but ive been riding quite a bit the past few weekends and have progressed quite a bit. HOWEVER, the stock suspension on my 400ex is kinda limiting me right now. ive been talking to alot of local 450 riders that have given me some tips that id like to try and confirm here. they say putting 450 shocks (front and rear) on will help dramatically. true or false? i have no where near the budget for a set of elkas or any other high dollar shocks. extended a-arms are already in the works, but i want a definate, fool proof plan for more stability and smoother jumping before i start spending money. one guy even suggested those ebay plates that relocate the top shock mount and a-arm mounts, but they seem like junk to me. any tips would be fantastic, because i would like to go to a local track one day and not get passed like a 10 year old. thanks in advance guys!

I would upgarade the front shocks to 450R shocks. I have a set I want to get revalved but for stock shocks they are alot better than the EX shock. Asfor the rear they are not much different in adjustment and ride. The Honda 450R shocks will mount up to the existing mounts but you may need to firce them in or grind the mounting eye alittle to ensure a proper fit.

I agree with tom. Ive heard the KFX 450R front shocks was the best as far as stock suspension goes.

I can upgrade the 450R shocks and the rear shock for around $565.00. This includes the front and rear shocks revalve, and resprung for the atv and rider weight. If interested please pm me. E-mail: josh@wiigstyleracing.com or TEL: 712-621-5191. Talk to you later.
