TRX250EX Rev Limiter / CDI
2006 TRX250EX
Just cleaned carb - installed Uni-filter and 100 main.
How can I tell if I am hitting the rev limiter or if it is a carb issue?
It seems as though I hit the rev limiter super early in 1st and 2nd gears.
The same problem was happening before I worked on the carb. After installing the new filter and main jet, it seems a little quicker/idles better and doesn't pop on decel, but still behaves the same way when revving high. How can I determine for sure if I am just hitting my rev-limiter or if it is an engine / carb issue?
Thanks Everyone!!!

The only real way to know if you are hitting the limiter is to attach a tach (electronic digital is best) to find out what rpm it cuts out at (usually around 9000rpm). Or you can increase the size of the main jet until it runs like the choke is on. When that happens, decrease the size of the main jet till it won't rev as high as when you started, then select the jet at which it performed best at. Change jets in steps of 2 sizes for quickest discovery.
