Jet questions Idle and Starting problems

Hi I am new to sport quads, I just got a 2000 400ex. It currently has a stage 2 cam, DG slip on and an aftermarket filter. It is tough to start I have to play with the choke and throttle a bit to get it running when it has been sitting for a little while, when its warm it starts right up. What size jets are ideal for these mods, also will that help the starting problem? Also it tends to idle a little on the higher side how do I adjust this?

Hard to start usually indicates tight valves, carb problem or ignition problem. Presuming the rings are good and it's not an oil burner, based on the fact it starts fine when hot and it otherwise runs fine, I would get the valve clearence checked.
