Grinding noise at high RPM - 00 fourtrax/rancher 350es

I have a 2000 Honda fourtrax/rancher 350es. The other day I went out on the trails and started to hear this grinding noise at high rpm almost as if the engine didn’t have any oil. Oil level was fine. I limped it home then couldn’t hear the noise again so I tried going full throttle and there was no loss in power. Now today I took it around the yard a few times and as soon as I got high up in the rpm in first and second it made the noise but louder. No clue what’s up hoping it’s not engine related but it sure seems like it. Thanks for reading
