Dimensions of stock head bolts???

I have a few threads stripped on my 99 400ex head, I need to the the mm x thread pitch of stock bolts to put in helicoils, I'm not worried about the length just the mm & thread pitch!!

All the bolt holes in the head are 6x1.0 except the exhaust studs which are 8x1.25

Cylinder studs are 10x1.25 and cylinder to engine case bolt holes are 10x1.25 also

To double check me - try threading a head nut onto the cylinder bolt

so in that case if I need to go a size up, what size helicoils kit should I get?

You get a kit for the size you want to thread into it - i.e. a 6x1.0 for a 6x1.0 bolt and a 10x1.25 for a 10x1.25 bolt

The idea of a helicoil is to restore a stripped hole to the original size so the original bolt can be used. I included for others who read this post and do not know what a helicoil is.
