Hello,

I'm about to buy a 1991 TRX 250X for my kids and I'm trying to figure out how the shifting works. The seller said its a manual transmission, but what I don't know is if you have to pull the clutch in order to shift gears? I had an old 1986 200SX growing up, and this had an auto clutch, similiar to the SportClutch that is offered on the newer TRX models. So I didn't have to pull the clutch to shift gears or worry about releasing the clutch when starting in 1st.

Can anyone help me understand? I'm looking to buy this for my kids, but they have never worked a regular clutch. Its not something I want to introduce now.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum - the 91 250X is a manual clutch with a clutch lever - you will have to find a different model if you want a semi-automatic transmission with a centrifugal clutch.
