SENSOR RESISTANCE
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect the angle sensor 3P (Black) connector.
Measure the resistance at the angle sensor JP connector.
Connection: White/red 1+1 - Green/blue H
Standard: 1.6 - 2.4 k11 (20"CJ68°F)
Clean around the sensor base with compressed air
before removing the angle sensor.
Remove the two socket bolts and angle sensorl
bracket assembly.
Check that the resistance at the angle sensor terminal
varies while turning the sensor shaft.
The resistance should change smooth ly as follows.
Connection: Yellow/blue (+) - Blue/green (-)
Standard: 0 to 1.6 - 2.4 kn (20oe/ 60°F)
REPLACEMENT
Remove the left engine side cover (page 7-4),
Clean around the sensor base with compressed air
before removing the angle sensor.
Remove the two bolts, washers and angle sensor
from the crankcase.

Install a new O-ring onto a new angle sensor.
Never allow foreign Clean the sensor shaft, sensor joint and crankcase
materials (dust. base cavity, and be sure that no foreign material is
Wo'l'ter. oil etc.) to allowed.
get mro the clearance
betwwn the
sensor shah and
sensor joint.

Align the tabs of the sensor with the flat of the sensor
joint and set the angle sensor onto the crankcase
in the position as shown.

Turn the sensor clockwise to align the bolt holes in
the sensor bracket and crankcase.
Apply locking agent to the threads of the sensor
bolts.
Install the washers and bolts, then tighten them.
TORQUE: 6 N•m (0.6 kgf-m, 4.3 Ibf.ft)
Connect the sensor 3P (Black) connector.
