I had to have the ignition switch replaced recently. Since then, it wont start without engaging the clutch lever.
I thought it a bad battery at first so charged it. Then it started as normal. Second time having it out Neutral light came on but would not turn over. No clicking or anything. Trial and error had me pull the clutch in, and it cranked no problem. So this appears to be an intermittent issue.
Any suggestions as to how to remedy the problem?

The neutral light is on, when pulling the clutch btw

It is possible that the clutch diode is bad

Normally if the neutral light is on, the starter will spin when the button is pressed
If the neutral light is not on or the reverse light is on, the clutch has to be pulled in for the starter to spin
If you have to pull the clutch in neutral, the diode is not conducting power to ground through the neutral switch - the connection to ground is then made when the clutch switch is closed by pulling the clutch in
