I have a 2002 300ex the electric start doesn't seem to be working right. the battery is charged, the headlight is on and bright and the nutural light is on. but when I hit the start button it just goes. Click... I have tried jumping across the solenoid but it goes click. It has a lot of battery so I think it is the starter going out. could I get some advice on what you guys know??

Jump the battery wire directly to the starter motor wire - if there is an arc and the starter cranks the engine, then the solenoid is probably faulty - if there is no arc, the starter is faulty or the engine has lost ground - if there is an arc and the starter does nothing, then the starter is faulty.
