My 400ex is twisted to the left at the front of the frame, making the right tire stick out a little further than the left. And the overall condition of the front (swingarms etc) is questionable. Since it’s just that one vertical front piece of the frame, should I try straighten it out? If so, is there an easy way to do this? Attach a certain type of jack, a puller of some kind orr?

A bent frame is not easy to straighten - you have to have a way to hold it and then use jacks, porta power units with various attachments and a variety of chains. I don't know any one who has successfully straightened a frame in a garage and only a few straightened by auto body shops. Most shops will just turn the prospect away. On the bright side, you probably cannot make it any worse by attempting a repair and you might even have some limited success.
