Hi,

I am bringing a 2000 400ex back from the dead. It has an oil consumption issue. I have the jug off and everything looks surprisingly clean. I can't feel lip in the bore, it just looks like the cross hatching is gone. Its still the 85mm piston. I'm debating on either getting it machined to 85.25 (shops are back logged so that will take a month or two) or doing new rings and valve stem seals. What is working tolerance over 85mm before 85.25 is nessessary?
