about two weeks ago my electric start has started giving me trouble and i dont know whats going on, at first i thought it was a dead battery but the battery is hot, the connections on the battery are all tight, then i thought it might be the solenoid but i tried jumping the posts on the solenoid this morning and it wont do anything, so i pulled the wires off the solenoid and touched them together... still nothing so im just stumped. right now if i go hit the starter all it will do is click, it will start and run fine if i push start my bike. its touch and go, if i go ride my bike for a while the electric start might start the bike a few times before it starts clicking again. anybody have any info on this?

At the very least, the brushs in the starter motor are bad. At the worst, the starter motor is toast.
