So here is where I’ll keep the updates as I work through this monster I’ve come to tame. At first you’ll see it looks like a fairly nice ride to be 35 years old. Probably what has helped it the most is it has set for over 10 years in a basement. So let’s begin……

The previous owner used some kind of adhesive and tape to fix the cracked front finders. Along with some not so well paint job. I think this may be worst case of overspraying I’ve ever seen

So the first order of business was to get it running. So I put a new carb on it and cleaned the tank out with vinegar and baking soda/distilled water. Well this started the decent into the black hole. Wound up with about half a dozen holes in the tank. One on the very bottom and and 4 or 5 on the side. I put some JB weld tank weld on it. So far that has worked. I also put a fuel filter with new fuel line on it. Only using non ethonal gas with Sta Bil additive. I also have it a new plug, air/oil filter

Wish I had took a pic before I fixed this. The used about an inch long piece of garden hose in the top of air box in 3 holes. I put a rubber plug in it and sealed it up. Plus the other craziness I came across so far

weldEd hubs to rear axle. Needs rear bearings and the rear disc needs bearings or something it’s wobbly some of the overspray too

the bolts all over the bike looks like they came from a spare collection

Ahhh the fun never ends. Pull the rear wheels off today. To put new tires on and find this. Nail for a carter pin

Nail, hairpin clip, cotter pin, and heavy gauge wire work equally well
