I have a 87 trx250x that only has a kick start and no battery. my question is would it be possible to install a battery so I can run a couple extra lights and how would I wire it in so that the stator can charge it?

No - the electrical system on your machine runs the lights with AC power directly from the alternator. The alternator is rated at 135 watts and it has 65 watts dedicated to the head and tail lights. Best you can do is add a single 50 to 60 watt light and hope it doesn't burn out the alternator over time.
