Putting together this trx250x (non fourtrax) and i saw where the breather went from crankcase up to the pipe on the head cover...after that is it open?

What year model are you working on?

87 goes from the head cover forward to a nipple on the frame

88 goes from the head cover rearward, tee's with the crankcase hose under the fuel tank, makes a turn toward the front, runs along the upper frame member and has a formed 90 degree bend which faces the open end of the hose downward.

The 2013 motor sets sideways in the frame. The vent goes from the crankcase to the air box and there is no nipple on the head cover.
