I have a pro.circuit t4 slip on. The pipe doesn't seal. Never owned a 400ex. On the 08 does the head pipe have a little ridge for the exhaust to slip over? Looks like it had one and inside the exhaust there is a small slot. Not sure how to upload pic. If someone could tell me how I'd add some

The 400ex uses a gasket that slips onto the headpipe and the ring you are talking about stops the gasket fron sliding on any further. Get a gasket (part number 18392-HN1-A20) costs about $12 - your slip-on should then seal.
