I am looking at going with a 10:1 or 12:1 standard bore piston. The engine has a manual decomp lever. That said will the starter still have a hard time turning the engine over?

Also with the 12:1 piston will I have issues running on pump gas?

Any help is appreciated. The quad is a honda.

Thanks for the heads up man!. I figured it was the same with vehicle engines. I just wanted to verify. I figured the octane level would be an issue. I only run high grade whatever octane I can find anyhow.

Given your knowledge on this I'll stick with the 10:1 piston to error on the side of causion.
