I had a 2002 400ex with a broken headlight mount. I took some playdoh and made a "form" around the broken area, embedded some bolts and nuts and filled it in with JBWeld. I had drilled some small holes for the epoxy to get in and solidify around the remaining plastic. Overall, its worked great. I have a firm anchor point to bolt to and its held up great.
Your repair will need to be specific to how your part broke. But yea, Playdoh from the dollar store can make a nice easy form to hold JBWeld which does the actual repair. Putting in a bolt or nut depending on your application gives you a firm place to anchor against.
