I bought a 86 250 fourtrax. The electric start dosen't work. The guy I bought it from says it needs a new stator. Is this a common problem or do I need to look else where. i haven't tried anything yet.

If you can push start it then its shouldnt be the stator. Check all your connections and fuses. You can find a starter on ebay and a good price. Welcome to the forums

Thanks. Yea It will fire right up when it is kick started. The guy I bought it from said it needed the stator. Know where I can get a wiring diagram for this thing. The repair manuals are like 40 bucks.
