I messed up the threads on the end of my axle where the castleated hub nut goes on and I could easily recut the threads if I knew what size/pitch the threads on the end of the axle were.

What is the thread/pitch of the threads on the end of my axle

To the best of my knowledge it 18x1.5 - try a tap in the nut - if it runs in by finger or with little resistance, then get an 18x1.5 die - I don't have a nut to check with at the moment or one of the 248 different models of ATV's that Honda used the same nut on. This piece of hardware was used on various 1985 TRX, 1989 FL and 1986 ATC 125, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 420, 450, 500 and 700cc models.

A fine thread would be 18x1.25 and a coarse thread would be 18x1.75 - while I can't say definitively it is a 1.25 thread pitch, I would be willing to bet 5 doughnuts it is.

OK - it just goes to show you that anyone can make an error - I'm putting 10 donuts on the pitch being 1.5 TPMM and not 1.25

Yep it is a 1.5 pitch! I bought the die on amazon for $10.00 and re-threaded like a champ! Easy peazy.
