Hi, I'm new to this forum...I need some Help. I need to know if the top end of an 03 foreman 400 (cylinder, jug, piston, rings, cylinder head) the whole thing can be swapped out on an 03 honda foreman 450?. I want to put the 400 top end on the 450..

Yes - 1995 to 2004 TRX400FW, TRX450S, TRX450ES, TRX450FE and TRX450FM - all use the same crankcases, crankshaft, cylinder studs and push rods. The base gasket is the same for both engines, but the head gasket is different - in fact there is two different head gaskets for the 400 depending on the bore (std vs overbore). The 450 was basically a bored out 400, but the 450 uses a different head, so both head and cylinder off the 400 will need to be swapped onto the 450

Installing 07 bottom end on 03 400ex

I'm Redoing my 03 400 ex, and Im looking at picking up an 07 bottom end with reverse. My question is does my 03 head compatible to fit on the 07 bottom end? Also are there any other suggestions for doing this swap.

Thank you

I presume you mean the reverse lockout lever - yes, you need it to prevent accidental shifting into reverse - yes, reverse is all done in the transmission - other questions?
