Hello everyone. I recently bought an 02 400ex. It needs the valve cover gasket replaced, and I'm not sure how to do it. I have the new gasket. Just looking for some guidance on how to do it. Thank you in advance.

The service manual explains in detail how to do it and lists the torque values and sequence. Then after the gasket is in place and everything is tight, it explains how to adjust the valves.

I've been trying to find a manual online but can't seem to find one. I don't need to do anything g to the valves, just need to change the gasket. I don't k ow if I need to put any gasket sealer stuff on it or if I just take the old one out and put the new one In and put it back together.

Take the old one out, clean the surfaces of oil with lacquer thinner or mineral spirits, put the new one in, torque the bolts in the proper sequence to the correct torque and adjust the valves.

Adjusting the valves is required because changing the gasket changes the clearances.
