I have a 01 400ex I bought from a friend that I want to bring back from the dead. Been alot of small problems but now I've ran into case issues. The oil drain plug socket has been busted out and repaired. I plan on buying a new left case half but is it OK to use a case from 2 different motors? Or do I need to buy matching left and right case so they match?

The crankcase halves are sold separately so just getting a left half is ok - left half is the same for 1999 to 2003 models - the right half is the same for 1999 to 2004

Thanks bro! I had a 400 a few years back and loved it got this one pretty cheap and wanted to get to riding again and it's been one thing after another. My buddy was actually paying for this work and it was crap. They used a broken bolt out of the rocker housing to put in the timing chain tensioner. Had a broke bolt in clutch hub spring and bolt head wasn't in the case. It's crazy the things people will do to get someone's money. You made my day! Thanks again.
