HelloI finally got spark on my bike but I have a question I put a longer stud nut in my cylinder to replace the stripped one but now I don’t have space to torque the spark plug im getting spark but would the bike start with the spark plug loose just tight a little bit or would I have to tight it to it’s torque?? Because I left it loose tight it wit my fingers and the bike wanted to start and was shooting blue smoke from the exhaust ???
What was the issue then that gave you spark?

Hey I have been reading this section my 2002 400ex is having the same issue how did you re gain spark?

Pictured below is the ignition system for up to 04 models - in 05 reverse was added and the ignition is a bit more complicated as a reverse speed limiter was added. View attachment 4799 Starting at the beginning - when did you lose spark? While riding? After powder coating or painting the frame? What happened between the last time it ran and losing spark?
I am having the same no spark after unloading quad from pickup

No - there is not 12 volts to the CDI box

You need a peak voltage tester to check the stator output voltage between the black/red wire and the green/white wire - with the engine cranking (spark plug out) you should get 100 peak volts
I have 2013 model no spark after unloading from pickup. The engine was turned backwards.... From that. Has no spark now

Is there any checks i could be doing in regards to voltage checks with my current multimeter to dignose the issue before i buy a new meter.
Which post are you referencing?

Regardless, the ignition system can only be checked for continuity and short circuits with a standard volt/ohm meter whether analog or digital. Voltage checks must be done with a peak voltage tester or oscilloscope.

You can use a regular volt meter on the AC setting to see if there is voltage being produced from the Exciter coil, which in my case was about 60v but you have to watch the meter while cranking, same for the pulsar coil, the voltage I found was .15 volts. If you are getting voltage to the cdi plug from both of these terminals next is to check top middle plug for voltage sent to coil from CDI. This is where most of the CDI boxes fail in my experience.
I had 2 new cdi boxes one ricks box and one Chinese crap that were no good! So don't think that because you put a new cdi in that it must be some other problem.
